We hear anywhere from 10 to 200 lies a day.
And although we’ve spent much of our history coming up with ways to detect these lies by tracking physiological changes in their tellers, these methods have proved unreliable. Is there a more direct approach?
Noah Zandan uses some famous examples of lying to illustrate how we might use communications science to analyze the lies themselves.
NLP has an interesting pedigree.
One of the leading motivational speakers is, perhaps, Tony Robbins or Waking the Giant Within Fame. His seminars have huge followings and his approaches have been praised and criticised in almost equal measure.
Here's a chance to see him working, albeit in front of an audience, with an NLP based coaching technique....
Its the story of Lyndsey, a lady who had been traumatised through a severe gambling addiction.
And although she had been free of this addiction for 12months... you can see in her physical appearance and in the language she uses... that she was weighed down by the burden of debt that her addiction had left her with. In short, she was desperate and could see no way out.
But through Tony's unique brand of unique NLP training, skills and experience an instant transformation takes place.
Tony manages to transform Lyndsey's reason for working.
Initially Lynsey described her reason for working (while crying) as the means for paying off her huge mountain of debts.
Within a minute the reason for work had changed (within less than a minute) and Lynsdey was smiling while stating what satisfaction she got from her work.
All from creating the metaphor of a bag... and getting rid of it by shooting it to the sun.
And just look at Lyndsey's physical and emotional transformation at the end of the video
In a recent article, Aram Rasa Taghavi, wrote about 14 reasons why our goals and ambitions may be doomed.
He was writing specifically about New Years Resolutions for 2018, and listed the following reasons as to why our resolutions may not come to fruition...

Steven Pinker is Psychologist, Cognitive Scientist, and Linguist at Harvard University
Here's a really interesting question.
How did humans acquire language?
In this lecture, best-selling author Steven Pinker introduces you to linguistics, the evolution of spoken language, and the debate over the existence of an innate universal grammar.
He also explores why language is such a fundamental part of social relationships, human biology, and human evolution. Finally, Pinker touches on the wide variety of applications for linguistics, from improving how we teach reading and writing to how we interpret law, politics, and literature.
What if instead of humans having Spiritual experiences, we are Souls having human experiences?
Dr. Ron Hulnick shares about the Principles and Practices Spiritual Psychology and how living from this new paradigm can transform your inner and outer experience in everyday life.
Beau Lotto's colour games puzzle your vision, but they also spotlight what you can't normally see: how your brain works.
This fun, first-hand look at your own versatile sense of sight reveals how evolution tints your perception of what's really out there.
Russell Foster is a circadian neuroscientist: He studies the sleep cycles of the brain.
And he asks: What do we know about sleep?
Not a lot, it turns out, for something we do with one-third of our lives. In this talk, Foster shares three popular theories about why we sleep, busts some myths about how much sleep we need at different ages -- and hints at some bold new uses of sleep as a predictor of mental health.
The Brain and Reality
Right now, billions of neurons in your brain are working together to generate a conscious experience -- and not just any conscious experience, your experience of the world around you and of yourself within it.
How does this happen?
According to neuroscientist Anil Seth, we're all hallucinating all the time; when we agree about our hallucinations, we call it "reality."
Join Seth for a delightfully disorienting talk that may leave you questioning the very nature of your existence in this TedTalk.

Defining Our Terms:
A spiritual life coach is a coach who empowers change by exploring the way their clients operate on a deeper level.
Rather than simply exploring behaviours, habits, and goals, they delve into the client's deep rooted beliefs and their connection to the 'divine' - or their own definition of The Cosmos.
They show people how to work with the laws of the universe to get what they actually want out of life instead of just accepting whatever comes their way.
Most people confuse spiritual coaches with religion and gurus, but these are two very different things.
Client's don’t have to be religious to work with a spiritual life coach.
Spiritual Coaches do not need to be religious to work with clients.
Both are open to deepening their connection with the nonphysical part of their self - their soul.
Spiritual life coaches are people who live by spiritual (not religious principles) and not just every day logic and societal conventions. They know how to make 'miracles' happen, and they help others live happy, fulfilling lives based on the practices that have worked well for them.
